Our wide range of hydraulic failsafe disc brakes feature automatic pad wear adjustment, and support braking force ranging from 4775 N to 80,000 N of braking force. These are designed with fewer moving parts, and the pads can be replaced easily without downtime.

Spring loaded pressure released disc brakes, breaking torque up to 52 daNm. For orbit motors, small radial motors and other motors.BTM are static brakes with hydraulic pilot pressure for opening. The braking action is obtained by a series of discs (number of discs is variable according to required brake torque) and springs acting onto the main piston. The brake housing is of spheroidal cast iron and extrusion proof seals are suitable for high pressures.The brakes are to work with hydraulic mineral oil with viscosity ISO VG 150 (15deg;E at 50deg;C) ; pressing oil through the "Pil" port , the main piston opens the discs and unlocks the main shaft. Pilot opening oil pressures are shown in the following table. Change oil after first 50-60 working hours and then every 500-1500 hours depending on working conditions. Kateel Electro hydraulic thrustor disc brake is a fail safe brake. When power supply is given to the motor, hydraulic pressure builds up inside the thruster and the piston moves up to release the brake. When the power is cut off, hydraulic pressure gets released and the piston moves down, thus moving the brake arm forward allowing the pad to cl the disc with the spring force and apply the brake.

Composition and working :

The Base is fabricated out of Mild Steel IS 2062 suitably drilled and machined for mounting on the machine. The brake arms and Bell crank levers are suitably oxycut to the shape. The edges are properly ground smooth and are drilled to suit the mounting base as well as the brake pads. The entire pin used in the brake for base mounting, thruster mounting, spring mounting are made out of C #150; 40 material and are machined properly to fit to the levers.
