A butterfly valve is a type of flow control device, typically used to regulate a fluid flowing through a section of pipe. The valve is similar in operation to a ball valve. A flat circular plate is positioned in the center of the pipe. The plate has a rod through it connected to an actuator on the outside of the valve. Rotating the actuator turns the plate either parallel or perpendicular to the flow. Butterfly valves are relatively easy to maintain.

Strident offers a cost effective solution to HVAC systems and is available in sizes from 50mm to 600 mm, for use in water and air services. The integrally moulded liner provides a stable seat, which overcomes the tendency of the disc to push the seat out of position. Our vulcanizing procedure provides the desired strength to the liner. Plasticizer in the elastomer formulation ensures a smooth surface which minimizes the friction between disc and liner. The stable, tough seat and low operating friction all contribute to extend valve life.
