Type HRV reverse circulation vertical pumps are same as HR pumps with vertical construction. This arrangement is ideal for liquids operating at vaporization points. More often, such liquids are liable to get vaporized by absorbing the residual heat generated in the motor during stoppage of pump which may cause bearing wear on restart. Type HSV slurry handling vertical pumps (Gas Seal Type) are specially designed auxiliary pumps wherein a gas seal is provided between pump and motor. The gas (nitrogen or compressed air) keeps the pumped liquid containing slurry from reaching the separation seal.
