We have developed heat resistant NBR(Nitrile material) for one of the big three auto manufacturers.The materials defined by their specifications was nitrile butadiene rubber compounded specially for heat resistance significantly higher than that of conventional NBR compounds, without sacrificing other desirable properties. The specification was originally released for material used in miscellaneous oil seal and gasketing applications for continuous automotive service at temperatures upto 135 deg C with occasional temperatures as high as 150 deg C.
One type of spec was released originally for static pressure seals and another for rotational shaft seals. A third type of material was compounded with internal lubricant for ease of assembly.- Wriston Polymers Pvt Ltd.
