  Operating Principle
  The wet feed which has free flowing granular form is made to work over the rotating bundle of heated tubes. Due to radiation and conduction effects,the moisture is evaporated and the product becomes progressively dry as it travels across the dryer and reaches final moisture level at the dischargepoint. Due to effective turbulence the solids are dried uniformly.

  Drying, Cooling, Composing, Maturing & Granulating. The wet feed
  is fed continuously to the drying drum by means of feeding devices
  adapted to suit the characteristics of the product. Scoops located at
  the intake collect the material and convey to the drum internals. The
  choice of internals to be installed will depend on the drying
  characteristics of the product. In most cases internals are selected to
  facilitate free flow, thus obtaining intensive convective heat and mass
  transfer rate between the drying gases and the veil of the product
  showering down. The alternative is to select internals that will
  facilitate a rolling-down motion, in which case heat transfer is
  effected primarily by contact between the product and the hot surfaces
  of these internals.

  Rotary dryers are custom built for each application. They are classified as direct or indirect (air heating method), current or counter current (material air contact).
  
  The material to be dried is uniformly dispersed over the entire cross-section, by use of internals designed based on the material properties. Heated air then passes thought the falling material, resulting uniform drying. The dryer is driven through a girth gear and tyre arrangement.   Rotary product is designed for reducing moisture content of the product. There are two types of rotary dryer; one is direct,which is operates on the principle of lifting and showering the product through a hot gas stream moving either in parallel or counter flow. The indirect is more useful to small dusty materials. In indirect dryer, there is little or no contact between the product and drying gases as they are heated from the outside the chamber through a stationary jacket fitted with either multiple burners or other external heat source.
  
  Not only it reduces moisture content in the product but also able to heating up the material, stimulating a reaction between two or more materials, known as Rotary Kiln or Rotary Calciner. There are various advantages of the machine. The rugged and robust design make it more durable and it even handle uneven feed material.
