water slowly dissipated into the surrounding area because of capillary
action & permeation. Especially in coastal areas and areas exposed
to corrosive chemicals or gases this phenomenon results in increased
corrosion of the concrete and steel reinforcements. Because of the
enhanced carbonation and reduced pH levels rapid deterioration of steel
takes place. Steel when get corroded, increases its volume by almost
double, this phenomenon apart from reducing the structural strength of
the building leads to further cracks and fissures in the columns and
beams accelerating the deterioration of the structures. If this problem
