In most modern boiler plants, the usual practices to produce/generate steam at high pressure & then distribute the high pressure steam in smaller dia.pipes and reduce the steam pressure as per usage point. The temp. of saturated steam varies with pressures. Hence we can control the temp. of steam going to process. A pressure reducing valve can be use for this purpose.
If the steam which generated at higher pressure (and temperature) than the required is used in various processes, the heat will be sufficient for that process. But reducing the pressure will save lot of energy. The work done by steam in process is primarily latent heat, which far greater than sensible heat i.e. steam imparts to the process by condensing into water thus giving off its latent heat.
