These reactive power controller are designed to measure the reactive power of an installation by giving the necessary instructions for connection and disconnection of capacitors in order to maintain the desired cos ö. Controllers are show in a 3-digit display of the set-up or actual values. They show the cos ö, that the total current & the harmonic distortion.
All controllers are commanded by a microprocessor that ensures an uniform ageing of contactors and capacitors by using a circular connection sequence which takes into account the time that each capacitor has been switched on (FIFO system).
Controllers can include a fully operational alarm relay that acts when the automatic capacitor bank cannot reach the required cos ö in case of high harmonic distortion level, over-current and over voltages. PCCs are of robust construction, fabricated using the best quality sheet steel. Pre-treatment is done using seven tank process. Powder coating is done in various shades to meet individual customer requirements. Fully compartmentalized design ensures operator safety. All switch gear components and bus bars are easily accessible for inspection & maintenance. PCCs up to 8,000 amps rating can be manufactured with single or double front design as per site requirements. Bus bars are selected to meet the continuous current ratings & short circuit levels desired. Bus bars are arranged both in interleaved and non-interleaved dispositions. Marshaling chambers with screened cables & distinct terminals are provided for interface with the centralized digital control systems.
