Bleached oil is continuously pumped from the feed tank by the deareator feed pump. The oil is pre-heated in the deaerating economizer by outgoing deodorized oil followed by the deaerating heater (if necessary) before entering the deaerator. The vessel is under full vacuum, so that residual air is reduced to an absolute minimum. The deaerator discharge pump sends the oil through a heat economizer where the temperature is increased by hot deodorized oil. The oil is heated to full processing temperature in the vacuum heater by thermal fluid from the thermal oil heater. A portion of the free fatty acids in the oil will be flashed off as the oil temperature increases. Stripping: the hot oil enters the packed column, which is filled with special structured packing so that the oil is distributed into a thin film and is evenly agitated by stripping steam flowing counter currently from the bottom of the column. The system is designed to Physical Refinery, i.e. pre treat, bleach, strip and deodorize Palm olein. In the Pre Treatment section phosphoric acid is added to crude oil, which reacts with the gums present in oil. The Physical Refinery is based on treatment with bleaching earth followed by filtration. {Capacity 5 tonnes per day i.e. 4 batches of 1250 kg. each } (1) All the main vessels i.e. two neutralizers, one bleacher and one deodourizer are properly arranged on the first floor of the steel structure. So all these vessels are hanging on the steel strucutre. Just below the two neutralizers, two soap pans are resting on the ground floor in which soap stock is collected. The crude oils are de-gummed and the free fatty acids are then removed by distillation in one stage during deodorizing. (Some oils like cottonseed oil or fish oil are not suitable for physical refining.)
The oil discharged from expeller presses has certain solid content or gum, the level varying on the oil seed, which must be removed. For easier separation, the solids are wetted with hot water and separated along with hydrated phosphatides in the decanter/clarifier. The solids are returned to the press for recovery of adhering oil. The clarified oil is then either refined directly or dried under vacuum for storage or consumption.

The second method that we adopt for manufacturing of gas plants is the process of electrolysis of water. When electric current is passed through water, Water (H2O) is decomposed into Oxygen (O2) and Hydrogen (H2) and this process is known as Electrolysis of Water.
Process description: An electrical power source is connected to two electrodes, (its made of some inert metal such as platinum or stainless steel) which are placed in the water. Hydrogen will appear at the cathode. This is the positively charged electrode, where electrons are pumped into the water. Oxygen appears at the anode. This is the negatively charged electrode. In this process, the amount of Hydrogen generated is twice than the amount of Oxygen, and both are proportional to the total electrical charge that was sent through the water.

Degumming & Neutralizing :
Crude oil is delivered to the system by the Feed Pump. It is heated to 65 - 70 C in the Crude Oil Economizer by hot oil from down-stream bleaching/deodorizing operations or, when necessary, by steam in the Feed Heater mixed with pre calculated quantity of Phosphoric acid in a gum conditioning mixer the pre calculated quantity of water is added . Oil water mixture is fed to hydration tank to give sufficient residence time for gums to agglomerate on hydration. This oil is then pumped to separator where the oil and hydrated gums are separated and pumped to storage or disposal or gum drying plant in case of soybean gums.
In the case of water degumming process, crude oil is heated to required temperature in the plate heat exchanger, mixed with pre calculated water through mixer and fed to the hydration tank for sufficient residence time for gums to agglomerate. Preparation of oil bearing material prior to its extraction is often under estimated by many processors. To achieve the best results in solvent extraction, the way in which the row material is prepared is almost as important as extraction equipments itself.
The feed stock should have a particle size small'enough to enable the solvent to reach right up to the core, but at the same time not so small as to constitute 'fines'; should have fairly uniform particle size in order to 'pack well' in the extractor and form a homogenous bed and should possess good percolation characteristics. Deodorisation is the final step in the vegetable oil processing in an oil refinery. Refined and bleached oil is stripped under high vacuum to make the oil palatable by removing the odiferous compounds from the oil. In addition to this, deodorisation reduces the color,decomposition of oil,peroxide value,trace metals etc. .
Veendeep supplies robust and well designed tray type multi stage deordoriser vessel. It is continous type and can deodorise oil upto 500 tpd.
