It utilize a dilute sulfuric acid electrolyte, which is immobilized to eliminate the hazards of spills and leakage and which also facilitates an oxygen recombination cycle. It consists of self resealing pressure relief value which prevents built up excess pressure in the cell and also prevents entry of outside air into the cell. With an advantage of less maintenance, minimal gas evolution and extended shelf life, it is available in two types of gelled electrolyte designs.
