Body :
* High tensile Cast Iron alloyed with chromium, nickle and manganese for better resistance. Hardness up to 210 BHN.
* SG Iron Body in 500/7 grade for higher RPM and longer life. Hardness up to 210 BHN.
* Steel Body Nickle Chrome alloy steel of 600 MPA tensile strength with Jaw ways and Knob hardened and ground for better accuracy, life and RPM. Hardness up to 45 HRc.
Scroll : Scroll is made from high tensile alloy steel and drop forged, it is hardened and precision machined for higher accuracy. Hardness up to 40 to 45 HRc.
Jaws : Jaws are made form low carbon alloy steel and case hardened and ground for accuracy and smooth fitting. Jaws teeth are ground from both the sides for higher accuracy and pitch. Hardness up to 62 HRC.
Pinions : Pinions are made from special alloy steel and case hardened up to 50 HRC.

SELECTING THE CORRECT TYPE OF LATHE CHUCK Scroll Type Lathe Chuck (Manual Actuated Self-Centering - available in 2-jaw, 2-3 jaw, 3-jaw, 4-jaw, and 6-jaw models)
A scroll type lathe chuck is actuated by using a t-handle wrench inserted into the access holes on the outside diameter of the chuck. When the t-handle wrench is inserted is inserted into the actuating hole and turned clockwise it turns an internal scroll. The actuation of the scroll in turn causes the jaws to move simultaneously and exactly the same amount of movement toward center. If the t-wrench is turned counter clockwise the jaws move outward towar the outside of the chuck. Scroll chuck may be equipped with solid one piece jaws or 2 piece jaws with a removable top jaw.
