The Presto Digital Tensile Strength Tester is electrically operated and is used to check the physical Impurities. It is basically vertical type, limit switches are incorporated for both the direction so to limit the traveling range. The accuracy of the machine is with in permissible limits as par IS: 1828.
The test specimen is held between two grips the upper one of which is connected to the load indicating arrangement while the lower moves down at constant speed with the help of a motor operated screw. The elongation is measured as the displacement of the lower grip. The equipment is designed to test as per Indian and other international specifications.

It is a self contained grinder furnished with a rotating disc having a planetary movement in a vertical plane. This feature gives added life to the wearing parts and delivers a product to uniform fineness. The pulverizer will reduce 1 pounds sample of quartz type material to 100 mesh in 1 minute. Maximum feed size is ¼ inch Grinding is done between two discs one of which is stationary and the other revolving eccentrically at high speed. Liquid limit device is designed mainly to determine the liquid limit of soil, the device is widely used in various industries. It is also used to determine the plasticity index of soil.
This equipment is helpful for classification of the potential properties of soil material.
The Liquid Limit of a soil is an index corresponding to the moisture content at which the soil passes from a plastic to a liquid state. This property is very useful to correlate mechanical properties of soil, such as compressibility and lower shear strength. Liquid limit is used in conjunction with the Plastic Limit to determine the Plasticity Index (PI) of a soil.
Liquid Limit Device and PI are used to determine clayeyness of a soil. Material with a high Liquid Limit and PI will be unsuitable for many construction applicationsn. On the other hand, material with a relatively low Liquid Limit and PI is generally desirable in highway construction.
