Gas scrubbers are air pollution control devices that use a high-energy liquid spray to remove aerosol and gaseous pollutants from an air stream. The gases are removed either by absorption or chemical reaction. In addition to fume and gas abatement, scrubbers may be used for process air cleansing and dust collection. Dry scrubbers are available, but they are often more costly than slurry method scrubbers.

A scrubbing liquid is made to flow in counter current direction to the gas flow. The packing media present in the column offers large mass transfer area thereby causing the gas absorption process. We are engaged in manufacturing of chromic acid fumes scrubber / gas scrubbers.
We have developed expertise in collecting and treating chromic acid fumes. The specially designed hoods kept above the plating tanks suck the fumes emanating from plating baths. The hoods can be designed to condense the fumes partly and condensed fumes return to plating bath. A condensing chamber is provided in the line to allow the fumes to settle and condense before feeding to scrubber. This condensed chromic acid is used again in the process. The fumes are then fed to packed bed scrubber and washed with water. Cleaned gas is left to atmosphere at suitable height through stack.The system is normally fabricated from rigid PVC and reinforced with FRP. Our range of packed bed type scrubbers are used for removal of gas, vapors, chemical mist etc. It is a cylindrical tower packed with plastic tower packing or any-other suitable packing materials for particular application and provided with a water spraying arrangement. This orifice type of scrubber is maintenance free as the same is pump-less in operation (i.e., circulation of liquid is not required, which is normally required by any conventional scrubber). The orifice scrubber has two compartments, one with gas inlet nozzle and other with outlet air/gas nozzle. Contaminants like vapour/dust/gas are conveyed from the hoods/vessels/ducting to the scrubber inlet and pass through orifice venture slot provided over the water/liquid level. As the area through venturi is quite less compared to the other places, very high air velocity through orifice venture breaks the liquid in micronic droplets. The other compartment of the scrubber will have mist eliminator, which will separate all the droplets from the air stream and clean air comes out from the scrubber outlet.
