M-Seal Kastex joints and terminations for LV Cables are based on a cast resin system. The casting resin is polyurethane based which has complete compatibilty with the cable components. The cast resin system provides the electrical insulation, mechanical protection and moisture imperviousness to the joint. These joints are designed for compression connection, mechanical connectors or soldering of cable conductors. The sealing arrangement is also based on a cast resin system. M-Seal Kastex Joints are available in the following types: 1. Straight Through Joints. 2. Pot Ends. 3. Tee Off Joints. 4. Breach Joints. 5. Indoor / Outdoor Terminations. Advantages 1. Frontec Low Voltage Straight through joints have had extensive usage since 1987 in Distribution Networks of Power utilities as well as in Industrial Installtions. HEAT SHRINKABLE The use of heat shrinkable materials has brought about universally acknowledged simplicity and reliability in jointing of cables. Frontec XLA kits use this proven technology. EASY TO USE Each kits includes all components required to complete the joint. Heat shrinkable adhesive coated sleeve are shrunk over crimped in-line connectors on individual cores. An easy to use earth continuity is provided for armour earth continuity. FULL COMPATIBILITY Frontec kits are fully compatible with PVC, HRPVC and XLPE insulated low voltage cables.
M-Seal Tapex System of cable jointing follows the time tested technique of rebuilding the cable construction. The system is simple and is based on three components: 1. Self Amalgamating Insulating Tapes. 2. Self Amalgamating Semi-Conducting Tapes. 3. Non Linear Stress Grading Pads. The non linear stress grading material eliminates the cumbersome and time consuming process of tapering the XLPE insulation at ferrule end in straight through joints. The stripped cable insulation, conductor screen and insulation screen are rebuilt with Self Amalgamating EPDM Tapes. This is the most proven and dependable method of jointing, which extends even beyond 66kV class of cables. It has been specially designed for ideal performance in conditions with uncontrolled back fill & presence of sub-soil water.
