Vacuum dewatering removes some of the excess water which is always present in concrete. This process, which involves the use of a vacuum pump, can be started immediately after placing and surface vibration. The work is so easy that it dose not require specialists. Firstly, two operators place a suction mat is than connected to a vacuum pump equipped with a suction hose, and the pump is ready for use.
A vacuum is immediately created between the suction mat and the concrete surface. Excess water is extracted out of the concrete by vacuum and discharged through a discharge hose. Therefore concrete by vacuum and discharged through a discharge hose. Therefore concrete can be relatively wet and placing which makes it easier to work with. Vacuum dewatering lower the water content in the concrete by 20-25 %, which noticeably increases the compressive strength and wear resistant of the concrete.
