It is made particularly heavy to prevent vibration and distortion the guide way-one side flat and the other V type are precision hand scrapped to match the corresponding surfaces of the table slides. Longitudinal hand travel of the table is by rack and pinion arrangement and automatic travel by hydraulic. The change over from manual lubrication of the longitudinal and cross slide way, two oil pockets and groves are provided, one at each end.
