Thyristor Divert Automatic Voltage Regulator is a Static,Compact,Panel mounting unit to control the Excitation of an Exciter, which in turn provides the field current of an Alternator or synchronous Motor. The Exciter may be either a Brushless or in Special case a conventional D.C. Generator. The A.V.R controls the out put of a single-phase rectifier supplied from high impedance Compounding circuit. The circuit provides more output than is required by the exciter under all Conditions and the excess current is diverted from the field windings through a Thyristor, the gate of which is controlled by the action of a sensing circuit monitoring the Line voltage and current.
