This is a multi stage, heavy duty water-cooled air compressor for 24 hours operation, horizontal type complete with fly wheel inter cooler, foundation bolts, motor pulley, motor, v belt, guard and slide rails. This is used to compress atmospheric air.

This can be single frame or a primary and secondary compressor. The increased no. Of stages improves the volumetric efficiency of the compressor and reduces B.H.P. The inter stage temperature are low and therefore no carbon formation.

The obvious result of insufficient oil is frictional wear. The piston in the average Rock Drill reciprocates about 1800 to 2000 times per minute. The gas generated cannot be drawn in by the compressor nd passed on the filling manifold, either due to low capacity, of the compressor or fast generation, gas pressure will graduallu build in the generator. When the gas pressure reaches a predeterminded level (about 0.5 kg/cm2) carbide charging will be cut off automatically and further generation of fas is stopped.
