The DX Martindale abrasion-cum-pilling tester is used to determine the abrasion and pilling resistance of all kinds of textile structures. The test specimen are rubbed against the known abradents at low pressure and in continuously changing directions tracing down the lissajous figure, and the amount of abrasion and pilling is compared against the standard photographs. ASIAN Din Abrasion Tester is designed to determine abrasion resistance index of natural and synthetic rubber in accordance with the above principle. It consists of test specimen holder with a cylindrical opening adjustable between 15.5 to 16.3 mm to clamp the test specimen with an arrangement to adjust the length of test specimen protruding out. SPECIFICATION:
The machine consists of a hollow cylinder mounted horizontally on a study frame on ball bearings. There is an opening which can be closed with a dust tight cover to facilitate charging and discharging the drum with the material under test. A detachable shelf which extends throughout the inside length of the drum which catches the abrasive charge ond does not allow it to fall on the cover. The drum is rotated by on electric motor through a heavy reduction gear at a speed of 30-33 R.P.AA. A revolution counter is fitted to the frame.

For resistance of aggregate that is caused by wear two hollow cylinders are attached. These cylinders are closed at one end and are provided with tight fitted covers at the other end. The inside diameter of the cylinder is of 20cms and 34cms depth. These cylinders are mounted on a shaft at an angle of 30 degrees with the axis of rotation. The shaft rotates at 30-33 r.p.m through a reduction gear, coupled to a motor.
Suitable for operation on Three phase AC Supply with 440 volts & 50 cycles. The m/c is fitted with a push button and counter starter for easy user interface. Complete with abrasive charge the machine consists of 12 cast iron spheres of steel spares. The Martindale Abrasion
Tester fabricated by us is perfect for determining of resistance of
any fabric to abrasion. This is done by abrading the fabric under
particular conditions against a standard abradant. For this both the
abrading surfaces are kept parallel to each other during the
operation. It provides a regulated abrasion between the fabric
surfaces in a constantly changing direction and at low pressure. For
abrading the circular specimen of fabric, it is kept in a known
pressure under two simple harmonic motions that are right angle to
