We design taber type abrasion testers to determine a plastic's resistance to abrasion. Resistance to abrasion is defined as the ability of a material to withstand mechanical action such as rubbing scrapping, or erosion.
This tester machine is suitable for abrasion-resistant tests on leather, cloth, paints, paper, brick, plywood, glass, natural rubber and others.

We present Los Angles abrasion testing machine which is used for determining the resistance to wear off small sized coarse aggregates and crushed rock. The machine consists of a hollow cylinder, mounted on a sturdy frame on ball bearings. A detachable shaft which extends throughout the inside length of the drum catches the abrasive charge and does not allow it to fall on the cover. The drum is rotated at a speed of 30-33 rpm by an electric motor through a heavy duty reduction gear. Suitable operation on 415V, 3 phase, 50Hz, AC supply. The Martindale Abrasion Tester fabricated by us is perfect for determining of resistance of any fabric to abrasion. This is done by abrading the fabric under particular conditions against a standard abradant. For this both the abrading surfaces are kept parallel to each other during the operation. It provides a regulated abrasion between the fabric surfaces in a constantly changing direction and at low pressure. For abrading the circular specimen of fabric, it is kept in a known pressure under two simple harmonic motions that are right angle to each other. To inspect the fabric’s resistance to abrasion its visual appearance or loss in mass of the specimens is checked out. For resistance of aggregate that is caused by wear two hollow cylinders are attached. These cylinders are closed at one end and are provided with tight fitted covers at the other end. The inside diameter of the cylinder is of 20cms and 34cms depth. These cylinders are mounted on a shaft at an angle of 30 degrees with the axis of rotation. The shaft rotates at 30-33 r.p.m through a reduction gear, coupled to a motor.
